What is TCM

 
  Traditional Chinese Medicine involves a number of therapies including acupuncture, acupressure, herbology, diet and Qi Gong exercise. A doctor of TCM diagnoses a person by four steps of clinical examination:
  1. observing
  2. smelling
  3. interviewing
  4. pulse taking

After taking the four examinations, the doctor must formulate the treatment. This involves the choice of specific acupuncture points and possibly the use of moxibustion and massage. Sometimes the doctor will prescribe herbs as well. Traditionally, acupuncture forms a part of an overall treatment system that includes the use of herbs, massage, diet and exercise.
